SUMMARY:Understanding the Uyghur Crisis
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by YATA and the Uyghur Transitional Justice Database (UTJD)\nThe Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA) is a youth-led organization dedicated to promoting understanding of international relations\, security\, and human rights through dialogue\, education\, and collaboration. By connecting young people with global issues\, YATA aims to foster awareness and engagement in building a more informed and peaceful world. \nAs part of this mission\, YATA welcomes the Uyghur Transitional Justice Database (UTJD) for a special lecture and interactive session.UTJD will present insights from their reports and books\, shedding light on the current situation of Uyghurs in Chinaand the ongoing human rights violations in East Turkistan. \nDuring the event\, there will also be an information stand where participants can ask questions directly to UTJD representatives. In addition\, attendees will have the opportunity to experience UTJD’s Virtual Reality (VR) project\, a powerful reconstruction that visually presents what the internment and re-education camps look like based on testimonies and research. \nThis is a unique opportunity to engage with experts\, ask questions\, and gain a deeper understanding of one of the most serious human rights crises of our time.
