From October 30-31, the World Uyghur Congress together with the Japan Uyghur Parliamentary League, the Parliamentary League for Investigating and Taking action on Human Rights Violations by China, the Japan Uyghur Association (JUA) and Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), successfully concluded the International Uyghur Forum: Global Parliamentarian Convention (IUF) at the National Diet of Japan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u200b\u200bThe IUF brought together over 150 participants from over 25+ countries, including policymakers, legal experts,\u00a0key political, academic, and civil society actors,\u00a0as well as global Uyghur leaders. The two-day conference focused on strategies, legal avenues and accountability measures to address the current Uyghur genocide, including transnational repression against Uyghurs, China\u2019s threat to global civil liberties, reproductive violence against Uyghur women and children, Uyghur forced labour, as well as the erosion of democratic systems in Hong Kong, military tensions in the vicinity of Taiwan, and China\u2019s threat to peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 3D modeling in virtual reality (VR), is of paramount importance in reaching a broader audience, particularly the policymakers attended in the International Uyghur Forum. In a landscape where information is heavily censored by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), innovative tools like VR provide an avenue for individuals to bypass such restrictions and gain firsthand insight into the realities on the ground. By immersing themselves in VR experiences generated from 3D models of concentration camps, individuals can not only visualize but also empathize with the gravity of the situation in East Turkistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UTJD had a chance to be part of panel discussion with other participants focusing in the field and present participants a unique chance to immerse the 3D model in Virtual Reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
