The Uyghur Transitional Justice Database (UTJD) sincerely appreciates the support extended during our recent campaign to translate Remolding the Uyghurs to Fit the Han-Ethnocentric Mold: Mass Internment and Reeducation into Russian.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we did not reach the full funding goal, the contributions received have made a tangible impact\u2014allowing us to successfully publish the translated edition. This achievement underscores the importance of every contribution, no matter the size, in advancing UTJD\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re pleased to share that the first 200 copies<\/strong> of the book have been printed, and preparations are now underway for an official launch. Efforts are also in progress to make the book accessible in digital format,<\/strong> ensuring it reaches a wider audience across regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book presents a detailed examination of the Chinese state\u2019s internment campaign in East Turkistan, drawing on UTJD\u2019s research, including the identification of 843 suspected internment sites and analysis of forced labor practices. It contributes to a growing body of documentation aimed at preserving truth and promoting justice for Uyghurs and other Turkic communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This translation is a part of our 2024 initiative focused on expanding readership and multilingual access to essential materials. It complements ongoing projects, such as the Russian editions of The Persecution of Uyghurs in East Turkistan and 100 Camp Testimonies. Expanding into additional languages is a key step in strengthening global awareness and dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
