On September 24-25, 2024, Uyghur Transitional Justice Database (UTJD) participated in the China Forum by Victims of Communism <\/strong>in Washington, D.C. We showcased a 3D model of Concentration Camp in VR<\/strong>, alongside a screening of All Static & Noise<\/strong>. Our coordinator, Adiljan Abdurihim<\/strong>, delivered remarks following the panel discussion<\/a> featuring Adrian Zenz<\/strong> (Senior Fellow in China Studies, Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation), Rushan Abbas<\/strong> (Executive Director, Campaign for Uyghurs), Muetter Iliqud<\/strong> (China Studies Researcher, Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation), and Mihrigul Tursun<\/strong> (Camp survivor).
The China Forum is an annual conference in Washington, D.C., that convenes scholars, experts, and policymakers to discuss trade and economics, foreign policy and security, as well as human rights and political development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event was a significant opportunity to raise global awareness and engage in discussions about transitional justice. Additionally, it highlighted the innovative 3D visualization work of the Uyghur Transitional Justice Database<\/strong>, effectively illustrating the harsh realities of concentration and forced labor camps in East Turkistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Participants at the forum had the opportunity to experience this virtual reality firsthand<\/strong>, allowing them to immerse themselves in the harsh reality<\/strong> of the concentration camps. This interactive experience served as a crucial tool for raising awareness about the tragic events and oppression faced by the Uyghurs. We aim for every attendee to leave with a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting human rights and supporting justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
