From May 30 to June 1, UTJD participated in the 4th International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival with its own stand, featuring our latest publication, Remolding the Uyghurs to Fit the Han-Ethnocentric Mold: Mass Internment and “Reeducation” Being the Chinese Regime’s Latest Tactics, now available in Russian translation.
The festival brought together delegations and participants from 25 different Turkic communities worldwide, including guests from seven independent Turkic states, autonomous republics, and regions with significant Turkic populations.
With the support of the Uyghur Antalya Association, UTJD was able to connect with Russian-speaking visitors, many of whom received copies of the book and expressed strong interest in seeing more UTJD materials translated into Russian. Their feedback highlighted the limited access to Russian-language Uyghur publications in Central Asia and emphasized the need for multilingual resources to reach broader audiences.
This effort is part of UTJD’s 2024 Readership Expansion and Multilingual Access Initiative, aimed at making essential materials more accessible to diverse linguistic communities. It complements ongoing projects, such as the Russian editions of The Persecution of Uyghurs in East Turkistan and 100 Camp Testimonies. Expanding into additional languages is a key step in strengthening global awareness and dialogue.
This experience reaffirmed the importance of making credible, well-researched information accessible across languages and regions. UTJD will continue this work and plans to expand into additional languages in the near future to reach even broader audiences.
We hope this book offers readers deeper insight into the realities faced by Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples, and we remain committed to sharing these stories with those who seek to understand and support their struggle.
