Panel Debate & VR Experience: Unveiling the Hidden Horrors of Chinese Internment Camps

March 4 @ 14:00 - 17:00

Join us on March 4 at 14:00 at the University of Oslo Library for a powerful panel debate on Remolding the Uyghurs to Fit the Han-ethnocentric Mold, followed by an immersive VR experience that brings to life the grim reality of China’s internment camps.

Drawing on survivor testimonies, satellite imagery analysis, and official Chinese documents, this event offers a rare opportunity to confront the mass persecution and forced assimilation of Uyghurs in East Turkistan. The panel will explore key findings from the book, discussing the systematic oppression and securitization efforts targeting Uyghur identity.

After the debate, step into a VR reconstruction of the internment camps, developed using high-resolution data and 3D modeling by the Uyghur Transitional Justice Database (UTJD). This groundbreaking technology bridges the gap between raw data and human experience, allowing participants to witness the hidden atrocities the Chinese government seeks to obscure.

Don’t miss this chance to engage with experts, challenge official narratives, and immerse yourself in the harsh realities faced by millions.
