Dear participants of the China Forum,
It is an honor to be part of this significant event, even if only digitally. In moments like these, it is crucial for all of us who care about basic human rights and justice to stand united.
We have just witnessed a powerful documentary showcasing how the Uyghur community, along with many of you, fights for humanity. You also heard the panel discuss important scientific findings, including the testimony of a brave camp survivor who shared unimaginable horrors—stories of loss, sorrow, and abuse.
Sadly, this remains the harsh reality for many Uyghurs in East Turkistan. Over the past years, researchers, scholars, and the media have worked tirelessly to bring these atrocities to light—the detention of thousands and the tragic future in which millions may never be born.
The Uyghur Transitional Justice Database has gone further, preserving these accounts in two books:
- 100 Camp Testimonies
- Remolding Uyghurs to a Han Ethnocentric Mold
Based on these books, as well as countless hours of testimonies from camp survivors, satellite imagery analysis, and other sources, including leaked documents, we have developed a 3D model of the concentration camp. Today, we offer you the opportunity to experience this 3D virtual reality model—a painful but necessary immersion into reality.
I thank each and every one of you for caring and uniting in this effort. Let’s work together to restore humanity.
Thank you!
– Adiljan Abdurihim, Coordinator / Data Technician at Uyghur Transitional Justice Database
