Uyghur Transitional Justice Database Concludes Successful U.S. Trip

The Uyghur Transitional Justice Database (UTJD) recently concluded a highly successful official trip to the United States, where we had the honor of participating in three significant events. We are immensely grateful to the numerous organizations, partners, and individuals who met with us, admired our work, and expressed their willingness to support our mission.

UTJD co-organized two pivotal events: “Preservation of Language and the Current Uyghur Genocide Visualized in 3D” and “Leveraging Emerging Tech to Understand and Respond to Detention in the East Turkistan.” Additionally, we had the privilege of exhibiting 3D modelling of internment camps in Virtual Reality as part of screening the documentary “All Static & Noise” at the Berkshire International Film Festival.

During our trip, we conducted several important interviews, including video interview, conversations with former camp survivors, which provided invaluable insights into the ongoing human rights abuses in the East Turkistan.

In total, we held elleven productive meetings with various partners and organizations, furthering our collaborative efforts to document and address the atrocities faced by the Uyghur community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and engaged with us during this trip.
